Increase or decrease size by 10 chains & one or two pattern sets
Sportweight yarn, about 350 yards. Yarn used was Astra, color Kool Aid Varg, by Patons. 133 yards.
Size K crochet hook
Make 2 rectangles 20" x 13"
Measurements & gauge need not be exact
Chain 84
Boxed Shell Stitch:
1st Row: (RS) Skip 3ch (counts as 1dc), 1dc in next ch, *ch3, skip 3ch, 1dc in each of next 2ch; Rep* across. Turn.
2nd Row: Ch3 (counts as 1dc), skip 1st st, *5dc in 2nd ch of next ch3; Rep* across; dc in top of turning ch. Turn
3rd Row: Ch3 (counts as 1dc), skip 1st st, 1dc in next dc, *ch3, skip 3dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc; Rep* across. Turn.
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until width desired. Usually 9 or 10 sets. End with row 3.
Stitch together by placing end of piece 1 to side of piece 2. Then side of piece 1 to end of piece 2.

LACEY BORDER SCARF

Yarn used: La Boheme, color Alaska, from Fiesta Yarns
Fiber Content is: 2 strand A. Brushed Kid Mohair B. Rayon Boucle. 165 yards. Yarn gauge is 18 sts = 4" Size 9 needle
Any similar heavy worsted/light chunky will work. Gauge is not important for this scarf
Needle Size 13
Scarf size 6" by 60"
Cast on 20 sts. (14 if using a heavier yarn or you desire a narrower scarf)
Border:
Rows 1 thru 5: Knit
Rows 6: K2, *K2tog, YO, Rep from * across to last 2 sts, K2
Rows 7 thru 11: Knit
Row 12: Repeat Row 6
Row 13 thru 17: Knit
Body of scarf:
Row 18: K1, *K1, YO, K2tog; Rep from * across to last st, K1.
Repeat Row 18 until piece is as long as desired or until 55" total.
Repeat Border rows 1 thru 17. Border will be about 5".
Bind off loosely. Weave in ends.
